MetaTwin — Metaverse & Digital Twin Platform for Mining
MetaTwin is an immersive metaverse-driven digital twin platform developed for Teck, enabling stakeholders to explore mining operations across the globe in a unified, interactive 3D environment. The platform allows users to travel from a planetary view down to individual mining sites, revealing live operational data, machinery, and geological insights at true scale.
Built in Unreal Engine, MetaTwin blends digital twin, simulation, and real-time telemetry to support observation, diagnostics, training, and stakeholder engagement.

Experience Overview
The experience begins with a global Cesium globe, allowing users to navigate to Teck’s mining sites worldwide. From there, users zoom seamlessly into a specific location, transitioning into a photogrammetry-based 3D model of the mine.
Mining sites feature true-to-scale terrain, buildings, and machinery
Haul trucks and equipment are positioned using live GPS telemetry, reflecting real operational locations
Users can explore the site in first-person or third-person, walk among machines, or drive vehicles directly

Operational and geological data are embedded directly into the environment:
In-vehicle and in-building BI dashboards displaying load, capacity, and operational metrics
